April 3, 2025 – Northern Bukidnon State College successfully conducted the second session of Teacher Agency for Assessment Literacy: Training of Trainers at the Research Laboratory. The event aimed to empower educators with the knowledge and skills to effectively design, implement, and analyze assessments.
Mr. Reynan S. Salo, Teaching, Learning, and Professional Development Coordinator, facilitated the training on the strategies on assessing students’ work remotely. The training emphasized the value of a portfolio as an assessment tool. “We use evaluation to judge whether our students learned a specific skill,” Ma’am Charry Mae C. Grepon stated.
The participants showcased their creativity in presenting their strategies for implementing their assessments. Additionally, Dr. Daniel S. Leronqan coined that self-reflection must be heightened in a portfolio for self-assessment and feedback.
The afternoon session focused on the strategies and actions moving forward facilitated by the Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Jovelyn G. Delosa. Amidst the hurdles and tight schedules, Mr. Jo Augustine Corpuz remarked on the value of commitment and consistency through the words of Viktor Frankl which says, “What is to give light must endure burning.”
The training fostered the innovative spirit of the participants, each bringing authentic experiences and shared values to deliver quality education. With the constant support of the College President, Dr. Christie Jean Villanueva-Ganiera, and the Vice President for Administration and Finance, Dr. Helen E. Maasin, Northern Bukidnon State College continued to venture greater heights armed with transformational leadership.
